Papa John’s CEO is Steve Ritchie. He recently wrote an open letter to all customers of Papa John’s. In the letter he offered a sincere apology for the racial remarks that have been said by some of Papa John’s high managers. He laid out the groundwork for many changes about to come to Papa John’s.
In his open letter Steve Ritchie designated and stressed he is only one person and only part of Papa John’s. There are over one hundred thousand employees at Papa John’s, and he is only one of them. He stated in his letter of apology that these more than one hundred thousand employees are pillars of all the communities where Papa John’s stores are located.
Steve Ritchie’s letter is one of sincerity. It is aimed at all members of the communities Papa John’s stores service. When he offered his apology the first time with a letter to the customer via the Papa John’s website he forgot to offer his sincere apology. In a second attempt at making an apology, Steve Ritchie Papa Johns wrote another open letter to all of Papa John’s customers. This second letter assured everyone of them that the more than one hundred thousand employees who work for Papa John’s worldwide will be included.
There are big changes on the horizon for Papa John’s. Beginning this week Ritchie intends on sending high managers out into the field to get a firsthand knowledge of what the employees and franchisers think. He will be hiring an audit team to make sure that the company is moving forward with diversity and inclusion of all its employees.
