Obstructive Sleep Apnea
‘Obstructive sleep apnea can affect anyone irrespective of age, though the risk is heightened by excess weight and age advancement. Those who are overweight may suffer from this owing to the possibility of fat deposits pressing onto the airway. Fat in and around the neck plus waist prove to be more problematic. A neck that is over sixteen inches around for women and for men seventeen inches around increases the probability of breath obstruction during napping. Patients with enlarged tonsils, chronic congestion in the nasal area and narrow airways, may suffer such a problem. Smoking, diabetes and blood pressure can also increase the risk especially in men over 40 years and more information click here.
