In recent news, the U.S. Money Reserve (USMR) partnered up with Austin Disaster Relief Network (ADRN) to give a helping hand to those who have suffered at the hands of Hurricane Harvey.
USMR is financially supporting emergency housing transportation, spiritual and emotional services, and direct financial assistance to help survivors of the tragedy, and is matching donations made by YouCaring up to $100,000 and will continue to do so throughout the month of September.
PR Newswire said that US Money Reserve was founded in Austin, Texas, and so the hurricane has hit quite close to home by effecting many of its own customers and employees.
Since Hurricane Wilma made U.S. landfall in 2005, there have been no other hurricanes to do so until hurricane Harvey.
During hurricane Harvey’s destruction, thousands of people had their homes destroyed and many of them were not even able to get any of their belongings before being forced to leave. On top of this, 82 people lost their lives in the hurricane, and in its wake, thousands did not have access to medicine, drinkable water, and hygiene products.
On top of this, a lot of the water became contaminated by sewage, chemicals, and other waste that made it dangerous to people’s health. The damage caused by the hurricane is figured to be close to $180 billion, and donations from companies like the U.S. Money Reserve will go a long way to help get the people of Texas back on their feet.
