She Never Let The Past Get Her Down: The New Book By Yeonmi Park

I am so excited about Yeonmi Park‘s new book that is being released on Amazon. I have been affected by human trafficking in our own family. My cousin found herself caught up in this world and though it started out so innocently, she lost her children, most of her family and her life for a long time. Park’s new book will amaze and shock many. There is so many things that this child went through that no one should ever have to go through. The book’s title is moving enough: In Order to Live: A North Korean Girl’s Journey to Freedom. Many times Park probably wondered what she had done in life to deserve the hand-out that she received. She wasn’t a bad child, in fact, she was a good child. Her life wasn’t too bad until her father got sent to prison. When the whole country of N. Korea seemed to turn against her and her family thinking that they were no good, Park got a lesson in how cruel the world really is. Park is still very young, only in her 20‘s, and yet she has turned the negative into a positive by telling the world what happened to her. She is shining a light on the N. Korean regime and the horrific things that happened to her when she was in the sex trade. Many people go through hard things, but she will no longer be held captive by the abuse from her past. She has risen above and continues to push forward and wants to help as many people as she can. Her book is going to be difficult to read. To think that one person went through so much at the age of 13 is just unimaginable. She not only faced the world and its most evil game, but she beat it. The tale of how her family separated and came back together and then how she managed to fool her captor into escaping through a desert is one book I won’t be able to put down. I admire Park and her bravery. She is one powerful woman who never let her past define her.
