Susan McGalla was born in 1964, and she hails from East Liverpool, Ohio. She was born in a family of two brothers with their father being a local football coach. When growing up, her parents taught her on how to remain confident when articulating her ideas. They encouraged her to work hard in all her endeavors. These values have always remained instrumental in her life.
Susan holds a bachelor’s degree in business and marketing from the Mount Union College. The knowledge she gained from the University has been the steppingstone in her successful business career.
More to business and career, Susan is a family woman and is married to Stephen McGalla who is a wealth manager.
Susan McGalla started her career in 1986 at Joseph Horne Company. Though the company was male dominated, she worked hard up to prestigious managerial and marketing positions. This was before leaving the company to join American Eagle Outfitters in the year 1994.
At American Eagles, McGalla started out from the bottom at the divisional merchandise department specializing in women wear. She ascertains of the fact that none of the executive members in the company was female but she was able to transform the culture. She held different managerial positions until she became the company`s Chief Merchandising Officer and President.
She eventually left the company to become a consultant specializing in retail and the financial investments. Her proficiency in the managerial positions attracted Wet Seal Inc., and in January 2011, she took started working as the chief executive of the company. Later in 2012, she left the company and founded P3 Executive Consulting.
Her company has been very instrumental to people as far as marketing, branding, and efficiency in different business operations are concerned. She has served as one of the members of the HFF Inc. She is also the vice president in charge of corporate strategy for the Pittsburg Steelers.
McGalla attributes her success to hard work and flexibility in what she does. She is also passionate about women and leadership.
